MCRA teams up with the Woodville Shelter, the Vidor Pound, and another Volunteer Pilot to give Lydia a second chance!

MCRA Cats are First Class!

Through a very generous donation, a second chance was given to some special cats as they were transported first class in a private plane into the safety of MCRA!  Below are our pilot and co-pilot, Paul (right) and Scott (left) along with a very lucky rescue!  More photos are forthcoming!

Often cats that come to us have been abused, neglected,  abandoned while others may be ill or injured.   Adoption fees rarely cover the cost of providing basic necessities and veterinary care.  Through our Sponsorship Program, you can select a specific cat (for which you will receive regular updates and photos) or a program in which to contribute a monthly or one-time donation.

To sponsor a specific cat in our care, click the above "Donate" button and simply list the name of the cat you'd like to sponsor. A donation of any amount is greatly appreciated!

To sponsor the rescue of a new cat click the "Donate" button and list "Rescue,"  "Medical Care" or "General Donation"

  • Rescue: $55 sponsors the rescue of a cat in a shelter.  This enables us to pull a cat off a euthanasia list and bring them into rescue.  This also includes a spay/neuter, vaccinations, and testing for FIV/Felv.
  • Medical Care: Donations in any amount are greatly appreciated and 100% goes to direct medical care.  If you prefer, you can also mail donations directly to our veterinarian.  Please include a note stating "Donation for Maine Coon Rescue Alliance" and it will be applied directly to our account.
  • General Donations: General donations are applied to rescue, medical, or for supplies such as material to make comfycozies for the cats to sleep on (all of our cats take their comfycozies with them when adopted), litter boxes, etc.

Other "wish list" items:

  • Food/Litter:
  • Carriers and crates (all sizes)
  • Baby gates
  • Toys, brushes, purr pads, beds
  • fleece & microfiber material - we make comfycozies for cats to sleep on.  These often become their "security blanket".  When they are adopted their comfycozie goes with them.
  • sewing machines for our volunteers to make comfy cozies

Please contact us at mcrcats@gmail.com and we will coordinate pick up of any donated items.
